Introduction

The Berlin Economic Forum Project 2014-24 (www.beforum.de ) is a 10 year global project organized by the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy in partnership with global governance organizations, national governments, leading academic institutions and multinational corporations. The project is built on the experience that the Academy has gained with the previous project: the Berlin International Economics Project 2010-14 (www.biec.de ).

The next events of the project will take place in Berlin from March 6th-11th, 2018 and will focus on Sustainable Business, Tourism & Responsible Foreign Investments.

Forum Agenda

The Berlin Economic Forum 2018 will commence on March 6th, 2018 with a focus on African Development (see the African Development Forum 2018 - www.african-development-forum.org) and will continue as from March 9th with discussions on the forum themes from a global perspective.

The Forum aims to analyze and discuss global trends of nation branding with a particular focus on sustainable business, tourism and responsible foreign investments and will demonstrate how these can be used as primary drivers for economic growth. The forum will also emphasize the use of cultural diplomacy practices in these fields and the importance of this use for the success of the Nation Branding activities.

The Forum will include keynote addresses, panel discussions, plenary sessions, social activities, as well presentations of representatives from different nation states of their national brands. The vision for the Forum is to bring an interdisciplinary mixture of representatives from the public and private sectors in order to initiate and develop programs and projects that will support sustainable economic growth at the national and international levels.

Forum Locations

Based in Berlin, the conference will be hosted in the ICD House of Arts & Culture, the German Parliament and several hotels in Berlin.

Participation in the conference is open to governmental & diplomatic officials, academics, economists, representatives of the Business sector, artists, journalists, civil society practitioners, representatives of the Business sector, young professionals as well as other interested individuals from across the world.

Certificate of Attendance - All conference participants will be awarded an official certificate of attendance upon completion of the program, which will provide details of the speakers who took part and the topics discussed. Each certificate will be signed by members of the Conference Committee.

Participant Papers »

The Conference Committee encourages academic research and analysis of issues related to the goals of the Conference. The Conference Committee would therefore like to welcome the participants of the conference to submit a paper they would like to be considered for presentation at the conference as well as being included in the proposal document that will be issued following the conference and will be sent to all governments and leaders of the international community worldwide.
