Introduction

The Berlin Economic Forum Project 2014-2014 (www.beforum.de) is the world’s leading project combining the fields of International Economics and Relations, Nation Branding and Cultural Diplomacy with an interdisciplinary and multinational program. The Project was established in order to further promote sustainable economies worldwide and the inauguration of the project took place in November 2014 with its launch event in Berlin. The next event will take place from March 9th - 12th, 2016 in Berlin and will focus on innovative nation branding strategies.

Forum Agenda

The Berlin Economic Forum 2017 event will take place in Berlin for four days and will be held parallel to the International Tourism Trade Fair (ITB). The Forum aims to analyze and discuss global trends of nation branding with a particular focus on creative economies, sustainable tourism and responsible foreign investments and will demonstrate how these can be used as primary drivers for sustainable economic growth. The forum will also emphasize the use of cultural diplomacy practices in these fields and the importance of this for the success of the Nation Branding activities.

The forum also aims to present all successful Cultural Diplomacy based Nation Branding Practices in the area of sustainable economies that the field of cultural diplomacy has to offer to the international community.

The Forum will include keynote addresses, panel discussions, plenary sessions, social activities, as well presentations of representatives from different nation states of their national brands. The vision for the Forum is to bring an interdisciplinary mixture of representatives from the public and private sectors in order to initiate and develop programs and projects that will support sustainable economic growth at the national and international levels.

Based in Berlin, the conference will be hosted in the ICD House of Arts & Culture, the German Parliament and several hotels in Berlin.

Forum Speakers & Delegates

The conference will bring together over 500 delegates coming from the fields of politics and religion together with senior academics and celebrated artists travelling to Berlin from all corners of the world to promote global peace in our interdependent world.

Speakers & Delegates during the conference will include among others leading politicians and economists, senior diplomats, leading governmental officials, senior academics, renowned authors, journalists, and representatives from the private sector. Certificate of Attendance - Conference participants will be awarded an official certificate of attendance upon completion of the program, which will provide details of the speakers who took part and the topics discussed. Each certificate will be signed by members of the Conference Committee.

The Conference Committee encourages academic research and analysis of issues related to the goals of the Conference. The Conference Committee would therefore like to welcome the participants of the conference to submit a paper they would like to be considered for presentation at the conference as well as being included in the proposal document that will be issued following the conference and will be sent to all governments and leaders of the international community worldwide.
